Clubs and Groups Got Together

Thornhill Community Hall was busy with stallholders and visitors on Saturday. There was lots of conversation, laughs and greeting of friends old and new.

Some of the stallholders decorated their stalls (and in some cases themselves) so the place looked bright and welcoming.

Many thanks to those who took part, donated home baking and sandwiches, and to the kitchen helpers who supplied endless cups of teas and coffees.

Thanks also to the Stirling Council ‘Let’s Get Together’ fund for grant in support of the event.

The Thornhill Clubs and Groups Fair is nearly upon us.

When? Doors open to the public at 10am on 25th Feb. Drop-in any time between then and 2pm. Free to attend.

Where? Thornhill Community Hall FK8 3QB

Why? Lots of stall, and information about local clubs, groups and organisations. Whatever your age, there’s something for you.

What else? Activities such as nature painting with the Carse of Stirling Project and relaxation sessions with Craig.

And a chance to register interest in suggested new groups e.g. running, cycling, health walks, chair aerobics and photography. Or suggest another one.

Anything else? Well, there’s free tea/ coffee, cakes etc. And lots of friendly faces 🙂

Pop-up Charity Shops

Two Pop-up Charity Shop will open as part of Stirling Council’s ‘Let’s Get Together’ winter programme.

The council has paired up with charities that operate shops in Stirling to bring an authentic pre-loved shopping experience to:

· McLintock Hall in Balfron on Tuesday 21 February from 11.00am – 3.00pm.

· The Alpha Centre, Fallin on Wednesday 15 March from 11.00 am – 3.00 pm.

Go along, have a rummage and maybe grab yourselves a bargain, and have a free tea/coffee with biscuits and chat in a warm cosy space.

CYP Silly Sundays weekend activity programme

Callander Youth Project are running a 4-weekend activity block taking place each Sunday in March (see poster for information). The programme is open to any young person from P6 to S3. Please note that young people must live or attend school in the McLaren High catchment area in order to participate.

Thanks to funding from The Conundrum Trust, every session on this programme will be free to sign up for. Spaces are limited to 16 places for each session therefore we will open the sign-up window until the evening of Tuesday 21st February (after the first youth club back from the February holiday) before randomly allocating spaces based on drawing names – we hope this gives everyone a fair chance of involvement.

Young people should only sign up for sessions they are interested in – there’s no requirement to sign up for the entire block. A waiting list will be created in the event that demand exceeds availability.
