McLaren Communities Futures

McLaren Communities Futures consists of the 10 community organisations covering the McLaren High School catchment area. It came together, in December 2024, with the hope of accessing sizable National Lottery Fund grants to help communities respond to climate change now and in the future.

Village Clean Up

Sunday 17th August 2pm to get the village looking good for Gala Day.

Climate Action Hub Pop-Up

On Thursday 14th August from 2 to 5pm in Callander Library officers from the Climate Action Hub and the new FEL Scotland Energy Team will be letting you know their plans for this year, and what advice and support they can offer, such as home visits, personalised energy plans, advice on energy efficiencies, renewables, heating systems, and funding.

Gala Day is back on Saturday 23rd August.

Come and bounce, tug, toss, dress up and join in the fun.

Common Grounds Cafe on Saturday

Don’t forget your date with the Common Grounds Cafe on Saturday 10.30 to 12.30.

Run by volunteers, the cafe offers home baking, friendly faces and a relaxed atmosphere in Thornhill Community Hall.

Suggested £3 donation on entry, kids free.

This will be the last cafe for the summer, it will resume at the end of August.

Badminton for Fun

Are you free on Wednesday afternoons and looking for some exercise?

Callander and West Perthshire U3A (University of the 3rd Age) run a Badminton club in Thornhill and would welcome new members.

We play for fun and fitness so no previous experience necessary.

How clean is Thornhill’s air?

Amy, a researcher from Stirling University, is running an air quality workshop this coming Saturday 25th March in the Community Hall. Drop in any time between 10 and 12 to her more about the air we’re breathing in and the air quality monitoring our village.
