Stirling Council are inviting notes of interest to be part of the first Stirling Visitor Levy Advisory Forum – an exciting opportunity to shape how we invest in and grow Stirling’s vital tourism economy.

The Forum will play a central role in ensuring transparency, collaboration and the effective delivery of the Stirling Visitor Levy Scheme. Approved by Stirling Council in December 2025, the scheme will introduce a 3% levy on all paid overnight visitor accommodation stays within the council area. It will apply to bookings made from 1 January 2027 for stays on or after 14 June 2027.

To ensure a broad and balanced membership, the Forum will bring together people with the skills, and experience found across Stirlingshire’s diverse tourism sector, to best reflect the strengths and assets of the region. It is planned that the Forum will have a good balance of representatives from local communities, businesses engaged in tourism, and tourist organisations.

The Forum will advise on how the scheme operates and will provide guidance on how income from the levy is spent, with final decisions taken by Stirling Council following consultation with Forum members. An independent Chair, who is awaiting official confirmation in the role following a recruitment process, will lead the Forum and support the recruitment of its members.

All positions are voluntary and non-executive, with expenses covered. Membership will be reviewed regularly to ensure the Forum remains representative and effective.

To apply, please submit a CV and covering letter (maximum 400 words) to visitorlevy@stirling.gov.uk
