A message from Sushee Dunn the new chair of the Gardening Society.
” The first flower show took place in 1982 so this is the 43rd Thornhill Flower Show (missed one during COVID).
As a new committee under the guiding hands of our forebears Norman, Doreen and Stewart, we are now preparing for this year’s events. Along with Faye Bryce (Secretary), Jonathan Morley (Treasurer) and myself (Chair), Ruth Howison is Raffle Convener, Jane Sampson is taking up the marketing/ comms reins, and supporting Doreen in catering. I am also learning the Show Manager ropes with Norman.
Jane has been working on a new TGS Facebook page, and you can search https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1Sk23JhShe/ , you can join the group and find all the latest information.
We have redesigned the flower show schedule and have launched a competition with Thornhill Primary School to design a new Thornhill Gardening Society (TGS) logo. The committe have now chosen a winner from all the fabulous entries. You will be able to see all the competition entries at the plant sale when the winner will be announced and the logo will be used on our media and material.
You can also contact us at TGS@gmail.com and of course we will keep updating you here through Thornhill Community Website. Future discussions with Thornhill Development Trust will take place about how to best coordinate activities.”
