Junior and Senior Youth Clubs

Callander Youth Project junior and senior youth clubs return next week for the 22/23 year. Please see the schedule posters for both groups.

Junior youth clubs will continue to run on Tuesdays after school with set activities each week. Please use the link below to sign your young person up to their respective age group, even those who took part in last year’s groups.

P6 (3-4pm) sign ups – https://forms.gle/8t5E8ZyYYDx2jJgZ8

P7 (5-6pm) sign ups – https://forms.gle/bwowRtEdc6KvEt3i7

The S1-3 group remains on Mondays for the extended session of 4-5.30pm as a drop in (free choice) session with the scheduled activities as optional.

S1-3 sign ups can be made here – https://forms.gle/MfjKhRDVfSUWpVjH6

The normal fee structure continues this year – one-off annual membership (£5) and a weekly £1 fee from attendees. We don’t wish this to be a barrier that prevents anyone from attending, so please just let us know if that causes a problem and we’ll be happy to waive it.

If anyone has any questions or concerns, please feel free to get in touch

Callander Youth Project Wildlife Weekend programme

CYP Wildlife Weekend programme takes place every Sunday for 6 weeks beginning April 24th. This link contains more information on each individual activity session as well the sign up process.

The programme is open to any young person from P6 to S3 however an enthusiasm for animals is recommended given the nature of the block. Following feedback from the previous weekend block, parents/guardians can sign young people up for individual sessions and are not required to sign up for the entire block. There are limited spaces available therefore we will open the sign-up window until 10pm on Monday 18th April before randomly allocating spaces based on drawing names – we hope this gives everyone a fair chance of involvement. We will notify everyone who has been assigned a space some point on Tuesday 19th April.

Free Bus Travel for 5-21 year olds

Striling Council update:

From January 2022, 5-21 year olds living in Scotland will be eligible to benefit from free bus travel. Children and young people who are 5-21 years old will need a new or replacement National Entitlement Card (NEC) or Young Scot National Entitlement Card (Young Scot NEC) to travel for free by bus. Parents or guardians of 5-15 year olds must apply on their behalf. Children under 5 years old already travel for free on commercial bus services and do not need a card.

More information on the scheme can be found here: https://www.transport.gov.scot/concessionary-travel/young-persons-free-bus-travel-scheme/
