Information from Stirling Council Community Development Team
Stirling city and the wider Stirling area have been announced as the only Scottish destination to make the long list for UK City of Culture 2025, boosting a bold aim to put culture at the heart of the area’s regeneration and future growth. A bid is being prepared for Stirling to be shortlisted to the final three UK cities next year.
Winning would be an opportunity to promote the area, attract investment, and include celebrations and events for everyone to participate in and enjoy. We recognise that cultural activity and creativity can also deliver a wider range of social benefits, enhancing learning, health and wellbeing.
We’re looking for your views and ideas to help shape our bid and wider cultural vision. Our survey wants to find out what culture means to all Stirling’s individuals, to find out the kind of activity our population takes part in, aspirations for the year of culture, and ideas on how to tell Stirling’s story to the world.
Please take 5-10 minutes to complete it – the survey is open to everyone who lives, works or studies in the Stirling Council area. We want to ensure everyone has an opportunity to have their say. The survey is available on our Engage Stirling platform and if you need a paper copies please visit your local library, including the Council’s mobile service. If you need the survey in another format, please contact us.
Please forward this to families, friends, and your networks to help strengthen the bid for Stirling.
